Volunteer Opportunities
Manna Warehouse: 9311 Gaither Rd. Gaithersburg, MD
Monday, Wednesday, Thursday
2 hour event approximately
5-7pm
Please note that Box Packing opportunities are limited. Right now, we are only able to schedule three shifts per week.
Groups will be expected to pack boxes of non-perishable food in preparation for distribution. Event involves lifting heavy crates, boxes of food, taping boxes up using tape guns, and lifting them onto pallets.
Volunteers: Volunteers must be 11+ years old. Volunteers under 18 must have adequate adult supervision (middle school = 1 adult to 3 students, high school = 1 adult to 5 students). Volunteers should be comfortable bending, lifting and standing on their feet for the duration of the event.
Student Service Learning: Students can earn service hours
Group Size: 5-12 volunteers (including the adult supervisor).
Training: The volunteer group leader is responsible for attending an in-person training prior to the event, as Manna staff will not be present at your event. Training can be scheduled Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday between 8:30am – 12pm, and will last approximately 20 minutes.
Availability: Groups may schedule 1 event at a time.
The volunteer group leader is responsible for making sure all volunteers complete a Volunteer Agreement Form and are registered for the event prior to arrival

Saturday or Sunday, between 9am-7pm
Please note that Sorting opportunities are limited. Right now, we are only able to schedule two sorting shifts per week.
Groups come to volunteer at Manna’s warehouse and help sort non-perishable food items in to designated bins. The task entails checking expiration dates on all food items and then pre-sorting them.
Volunteers: Volunteers must be 11+ years old. Volunteers under 18 years old must have adequate adult supervision (middle school = 1 adult to 3 students, high school = 1 adult to 5 students). Volunteers must be comfortable bending, lifting, and standing on their feet for the duration of the event.
