September is Hunger Action Month

This September, Manna is proud to join Feeding America and food banks around the country in the month-long campaign to bring not only action, but awareness to the hunger that exists in our communities. We couldn’t do any of this without you; join us in 4 easy actions this month to #EndHunger for all!

  1. Contact your legislators

    1. Advocates like you can utilize the summer congressional recess to urge your Members to pass legislation that will ensure that critical child nutrition programs are improved, strengthened, and expanded. Join our partners at Food Research and Action Center (FRAC) in advocating for Congress to pass a robust Child Nutrition Reauthorization (CNR) Package this fall. Click here to contact your officials.

  2. Volunteer

    1. Become a Volunteer Food Runner for Montgomery County’s Community Food Rescue Network. Community Food Rescue depends on volunteers who can transport food from businesses to food assistance organizations. We seek interested individuals who are 18+, have a clean vehicle with insurance, driver’s license, and a good driving record. Click here to join CFR!

  3. Host a food drive in your community

    1. Food drives are a fun and easy way to connect with your network of friends, family, and community members while investing in your local food bank. Manna relies on the continued food donations to keep our distributions stocked. For more information on donation locations and eligible food for donation, click here to consult our guidelines.
  4. Donate funds to your local food bank

    1. Manna relies on the generosity of our community to provide the funds needed to keep our trucks fueled and running, our refrigerators and freezers operational, and the warehouse stocked with the supplies to fight hunger in our community. Click here to donate funds to Manna.
