Job Summary:
The Finance Director is a key member of the leadership team, responsible for overseeing financial operations of the organization. This includes budgeting, forecasting, accounting operations oversight, and financial and managerial reporting. With a $12M annual operating budget, the Finance Director ensures fiscal integrity, transparency, and sustainability across all of Manna’s programs and departments. The Finance Director will also lead the ongoing transition from an out–sourced service provider to a primarily in–house finance function.

Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Collaboration
• Supervise finance staff and foster a culture of accountability, learning, and continuous improvement.
• Partner with other departments to ensure cross–functional alignment on roles and processes with financial implications
• Provide training and support to staff on budgeting, expense tracking, and financial literacy.
Financial Strategy & Planning
• In cooperation with the Managing Director, lead the development of annual budgets, multi–year forecasts, and financial models to support strategic initiatives.
• Provide board–level reporting on financial trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Collaborate with Development, Community Impact and Operations teams to align financial planning with organizational goals
Accounting & Reporting
• Oversee all accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and reconciliations.
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting for grants, contracts, and donor–restricted funds.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and dashboards for internal and external stakeholders.
• Manage transition of processes from outsourced provider to in–house staff while ensuring compliance with internal and external accounting policies and standards.
Compliance & Audit
• Maintain compliance with GAAP, IRS regulations, and nonprofit financial standards.
• Serve as the primary liaison for annual audits and manage relationships with external auditors and third party service providers.
• Ensure proper documentation and internal controls for financial transactions and policies.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (MBA preferred).
• 5 years of progressive experience in nonprofit financial management.
• Strong knowledge of fund accounting, nonprofit compliance, and financial reporting.
• Experience managing budgets of $5M+ and working with diverse funding sources.
• Proficiency in financial software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage Intacct) and Excel.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skills.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. The employees constantly operate computers and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer. The person in this position frequently communicates with staff, board members, and vendors and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
Environmental Conditions: The employee will be exposed to a variety of fluctuating environmental conditions within the building including heat and cold. The employee must be able to work in these conditions for up to 2 hours at a time.
