Volunteer Opportunities

Please know we typically schedule events up to 6-8 weeks ahead.

Volunteers review the quality of the frozen meat from the grocery store and pack bags with a variety of items in preparation for distribution.

Volunteers must be able to work independently. Daytime groups might also be asked to help with other tasks such as sorting/bagging bread or produce or other tasks as needed.

Group Size: 4-6 volunteers

Volunteers: Volunteers must be 16+ years old.
Volunteers under 18 must have adequate adult supervision.

Student Service Learning: Students can earn service hours

Training: Groups will be trained onsite.

Availability: Groups may schedule up to 1 event at a time.

Small groups come to volunteer at Manna’s warehouse and help sort through rescued food from the grocery stores including produce, prepared meals, and dairy items. Volunteers will pack good food for distribution and compost/trash remaining items.

Volunteers must be able to work independently. Daytime groups might also be asked to help with other tasks such as sorting/bagging bread or meat or other tasks as needed.

Group Size: 4-6 volunteers

Volunteers: Volunteers must be 16+ years old.

Groups come to volunteer at Manna’s warehouse and help sort non-perishable food items in to designated bins.  The task entails checking expiration dates on all food items and then pre-sorting them in to approximately 35 different bins.  Daytime groups might also be asked to help with other tasks such as sorting/bagging bread or meat or other tasks as needed.  Volunteers must be able to work independently.

Volunteers: Volunteers must be 16+ years old.

Student Service Learning:  Students can earn service hours

Group Size:  5-10 volunteers
Volunteers under 18 must have adequate adult supervision.

Training: Groups will be trained onsite.

Availability: Groups may schedule up to 1 event at a time.

We typically schedule events up to 6-8 weeks ahead. Please know sorting is limited during the Spring and Summer months due to a decrease in food donations.

Student Service Learning:  Students can earn service hours

Group Size:  5-12 volunteers (including the adult supervisor). 
Volunteers under 18 must have adequate adult supervision. (Approximately: Middle School – 1 adult to 3 students, High School 1 adult to 5 students)

Training: An adult group leader must come in advance for training. Once event date is confirmed we will set up a training time.

Availability: Groups may schedule up to 1 event at a time.
