What are Food Stamps?

The Federal Government's SNAP Program (formerly called the Food Stamp Program) helps low-income households buy the food they need for good health and are used like cash to buy food. The program is administered by each state in cooperation with the US Department of Agriculture.

How do I transfer my SNAP/Food Stamps case from another Maryland county?

If you've recently moved to Montgomery County from another county in Maryland, you can request that your case be transferred here from there. All that is required to transfer a case is verification of the new address. Once it arrives in the Montgomery County DHHS office, a worker will contact you to verify new income, living arrangements, household, etc.
