Partner With Manna

Manna provides more than 2.5 million pounds of food each year to both individuals and nonprofit agencies. The support we receive from our partners and our community is essential. By making a donation that helps provide essential food to hungry Montgomery County, becoming a Smart Sacks partner to provide thousands of weekend meals for elementary children, or holding a food drive to stock our shelves, Manna's partners make a significant difference in the fight against hunger in our community.
Here are ways your business or organization can fight hunger and feed hope with Manna:
Corporate Challenge Grants
Provide a grant to challenge employees or individuals to make a financial contribution to Manna. Offer a matching donation to double or triple the money donated to help feed those in need.Employee Fund Drives
Designate United Way, CFC, and other workplace campaign contributions to Manna Food Center. (click here for Workplace Giving)Combined Federal Campaign - Designation number #23028
United Way - Designation number #8846
Food Drives
Hold a food drive at your office to keep our shelves stocked with healthy non-perishable food. One idea is to encourage departments or floors to compete to see who can collect the most food. Distribute a list of Manna's preferred food list to make it easier to know what to donate. Offer a prize … or bragging rights … to the winning department to celebrate their efforts. The event builds teamwork and helps a valuable cause at the same time.Smart Sacks
Smart Sacks is an innovative way to fight childhood hunger while giving your employees a chance to give back to their community – without leaving the office. Your organization fills bags or backpacks with kid-friendly food that is provided by Manna and then delivers them to your partner elementary school each week. This is a vital program that offers many rewards to both the employees and the children who receive the food each week. Vine ripe tomatoes, crispy fresh greens, buttery new potatoes, sweet juicy berries are just a part of the wonderful bounty to be found at our local farmers markets this season. Yet for those facing hunger, the simple act of eating summer's fresh produce is simply out of reach.Fresh Give is a new program that offers local businesses a unique and visible way to support local farmers and helps feed families in need for a true win-win-win opportunity. Businesses sponsor a weekend with a tax-deductible donation and host a table at one of two participating area farmers' markets in Bethesda or Clarksburg. The contribution is used at the close of the market to purchase unsold fresh produce from farmers. The purchased food is donated to Manna Food Center and distributed to families in need.
For more information or to discuss specifics details on how to sponsor a Fresh Give weekend, please contact Manna's Director of Development Kim Damion at 301-424-1130.
