Help the Hungry Food Drives a Great Success
28 Giant Stores Collect 41,101 Pounds of Food for Manna Food Center Through “Help the Hungry” Food Drives
You've done it again Montgomery County - over 40,000 pounds of food was collected during the MLK Help the Hungry Food Drives! All 28 Giant Stores, 500 volunteers, and hundreds of community donors made this success possible. We are still experiencing record highs at Manna - so every food item makes a difference!
The East-West Highway Giant store collected came in first place with 4,912 pounds of food collecting. The Kentlands Giant came in second with 2,585 pounds and the Potomac/Tuckerman Lane Giant in close third with 2,428 pounds collected. This is the first time in food drive history that every store collected 600 pounds of food or more! Congratulations to our top three stores, and an outstanding job to all our stores.
