Manna Honored in the Top 53

Manna Food Center is honored to be a part of the Gazette of Politics and Business' Top 53 Companies! On Thursday, October 25, Manna was named #43 in the state!

The program, produced by The Gazette P&B, acknowledges the top 53 businesses and organizations in Maryland based on criteria that included the recipient company’s noteworthy product or service innovations, community service efforts, and how the companies portrayed themselves as “good places to work.”

 “To make the 53 list is a great accomplishment,” said Trina Lapier, publisher of The Gazette P&B.  “This year’s list features companies from the State of Maryland that have had success in a wide variety of fields, and each company deserved recognition of their accomplishments.” Manna Food Center was profiled in a special section as part of the Friday October 26th, 2012 edition of The Gazette of Politics and Business.

 Manna was recognized for its exceptional growth during the last three years as well as its community service programs including Food for Families, Smart Sacks, and Farm to Food Bank, and innovation in creating a fun and supportive work environment for staff and volunteers. Minerva Delgado, Executive Director of Manna expressed the joy felt by staff and volunteers to have been named to the list of 53 Exceptional Maryland companies at the event. “We really live our mission here at Manna: every day we fight hunger and feed hope for thousands of residents. I’m so proud to accept this award on behalf of our dedicated staff, board, and volunteers,” she said.
