Manna Healthy Food Wish List

Here is a handy list of the food we need most often at Manna.
(DOWNLOAD & PRINT OUR WISH LIST)In the United States processed food products with added sugar and salt are often more affordable than nutrient-rich foods like fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. For this reason those of us with limited material resources find it easier to fill up on calorie-dense food that does not contain the varied nutrients our bodies need.
The suggestions listed here will help guide you in providing the most healthful donation for our neighbors who need it most.
Fruits and Vegetables
Choose canned fruits and vegetables in an array of colors to provide a variety of vitamins and minerals.
sugar or salt
Protein
Choose canned lean meats as a good source of protein and canned or dry beans for added fiber.
Grains
100% whole grains and grain products offer a complete package of nutrients.
Additional healthful items
Fresh fruit and vegetables
One of the most requested items from our clients is fresh produce. Why not plant an extra row in your garden this year and help us feed those less fortunate? Manna will gladly take your extra fresh garden fruit and vegetables.
Unfortunately, Manna is not able to accept prepared food that is not made and packaged in a commercial kitchen. We would be happy to refer you to one of the many soup kitchens or emergency shelters that can use these types of donations.
